LinSentio is a dynamic start-up company with in-depth experience in building and configuring low-power and silent Linux-based PC's.
Why LinSentio?
The idea of LinSentio came up when we were pretty much tired with the PC offerings of other companies. The current PC trend is to target performance at any cost, while the ordinary user (a.k.a. average John) does not want to pay for this performance because he is not using it.
Furthermore, bundled proprietary software packages increase the final price of the product while the quality, security and support of that software can be frustrating. LinSentio is using open source software most of it licensed under GPL. A comparison between open source and close source software is being maintained on Wikipedia.
Goals:
Our primary goal is to promote and support high-quality free software. That's why LinSentio is not charging for the installed software.
Provide our customers with high quality information in the technical field. Sadly enough, most of the well-known companies give less and less technical information for their newest products.
Beliefs:
We believe that open source + GPL + collaborative design is the only way forward in the consumer software industry. Out of many such brilliant products, Wikipedia is a role model.
We believe that Linux in special can give the average John all the software he needs without spending big bucks. Linux is evolution not intelligent design.
We believe that GPL collaborative design must be supported. That's why we are donating 5% of our profits to Open source GPL projects.
We believe that customers should be supported as good as the support before the purchase. Many times companies tend to diminish their support immediately after the purchase is done. We are against this policy and we commit to a constant level of support throughout the lifetime of the product.
We believe that the technology you use should be tailored around you. You ask, we deliver.
Business Model:
absolute transparency, are the two words that describe our business model.
LinSentio is a part-time, volunteers friendly, hobby-driven company; current volunteers/future share-holders are always welcome.
Our markup is a fix percentage, being 19% over the purchase price of the components. This is the same as the VAT/TVA/BTW tax in The Netherlands.
