Technical
- The fonts of the applications in KDE/Gnome are very big. Why?
-
They are on purpose big since it is presumed that the user will stay few meters away from the TV.
You may change them from KDE start -> Control Center -> Appearance and Themes -> Fonts.
For gnome applications start gtk-chteme in a xterm/konsole. - MythTV gives me the following message:
Could not connect to the master backend server -- is it running? Is the IP address set for it in the setup program correct? -
Most probably this message is harmless since an automatic procedure to restart the master backend server is already running. Therefore you should retry your command.
- While watching TV/etc., the image freezes. What should I do?
-
This should not really happen. However, there is an easy way out.
Press CTRL+ALT+ESC. Your cursor will transform into a Jolly Roger.
Just press enter or left click your mouse and the frozen window will disappear.
Then restart MythTV by pressing enter.
